The Commonwealth of Atlaria was born from the destruction of the sister cities Atlantis and Lemuria. As these magickal islands sunk to the ocean floor, refugees made their way to other continents, creating thirteen magickal settlements.

All countries within the Commonwealth of Atlaria are governed by a complex Guild system. There are thirteen guilds responsible for training novitiates and acting as arbiters of the professions they oversee.

Each Guild appoints its leaders based on the accumulation of accolades, awards, and influence. The Headman or Headmistress of each Guild also serves on the Governing Board, the Convocation of Esteemed Equals. The Convocation is guided by the Primus Inter Pares or First Among Equals.
There are thirteen Capital Cities, and all of the smaller cities defer to them for significant decisions.

Each of the regional Convocation leaders also serves on the International Convocation of Esteemed Equals, overseen by the Chancellor of the Commonwealth of Atlaria. The current Chancellor is Aadya Varma.

As systemic discrimination and nepotism escalate, dissatisfaction and unrest grows among the lowliest workers. The leadership of each Guild will be forced to confront issues they’d rather ignore. The Guild with the most dissension and discord is the Guild of Laborers, which threatens the basic functionality of the cities.
